I think Elizabeth Taylor said it best… “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and pull yourself together!”
Some days just suck, often those days are Mondays or days we refer to as a “Monday,” nothing goes right, the world is basically coming to an end and not all the coffee in the world could make it better. Those days you wake up late for work, spill coffee on your favorite white blouse, and of course you have a meeting with your boss! Those days that we wish were over before they start!
However, I challenge this idea is it really the day’s fault? Is Monday really so bad? Can you really afford to let the day be a bad day? What were to happen if this was the last day you were on Earth or with the people you love? Did you make it count or did the day get wasted on miss opportunities, missed connections, and misinterpreted signs?
So you got up late right- well slick your hair into a neat pony now it’s out of your face! Coffee on your shirt- grab a blazer on your way out the door and impress your boss with how professional you look! Don’t give a couple bad moments the power to ruin your whole day and mostly likely the day of everyone around you. Instead of being impatient with the barista for not moving fast enough. Start a new chain reaction of positive actions. Buy the person behind you at Starbucks a cup of coffee. Actually leave a tip for the hard working barista. Say good morning to everyone you see. Help someone with the door. You would be amazed when you put good out there how good it makes you feel.
When you think you are having one of those days, one of those weekend has ended back to reality life kind of sucks days, channel your inner Elizabeth Taylor! Pull out your favorite shade of lipstick and put on a smile, you got this!
